Introduction
The Franklin County Senior Activity Center provides supervision, social stimulation, and light physical activities in a structured setting during a portion of the day for physically disabled or frail individuals, including stroke or Alzheimer’s patients, age sixty and over. If services are provided for respite relief for the caregiver, services may be available to individuals of any age with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or related disorder or disability, as confirmed by a written statement from a physician. The high ratio of staff to clients creates a safe and nurturing environment. Our services include home cooked meals plus morning and afternoon snacks. Fees for Adult Day services are based on a sliding scale according to the client’s income. Please inquire about our bus services.
Mission
Our mission is to improve and promote the quality of life for both seniors and caregivers as they experience the various seasons of life. We continually strive to maintain an atmosphere of compassion and dignity as well as to encourage and inspire through creativity and understanding.
Funding
We receive funding from federal, state, county, and city governments. We also rely on donations from local organizations, churches, and interested individuals. Although the Adult Day Care services are based on a client’s income, we encourage participants to donate to our program. We are a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization, so donations are tax deductible.
Activities
Participation is encouraged in our various activities. We offer exercise, arts and crafts, games and puzzles, pet therapy, music, and reminiscing, all within a warm and inviting atmosphere.
